Six must haves before arriving to do your Learner’s driving license test:
- Have you studied the road code? Check out our list of places you can practise to start your learning!
- Have you completed the DL1 Application for issue or Renewal of Driver License form?
- Have you brought your current New Zealand Passport or two other approved forms of identification to confirm your identity? (link to identity forms).
- Have you brought in any prescription glasses or contact lenses you currently wear for the eye test?
- Have you paid for your Learner License test? Check out your local AA or VTNZ branch website for the forms of payment they accept. EFTPOS and credit card are common forms of payment but it’s a good idea to double check before you head over to take your test as some branches do not accept cash.
- Have you found how to get to your test location and how long it takes to get there? It’s a good idea to arrive at least 30 minutes before your test so you are prepared to take it.
