READY TO GET YOUR LEARNERS? HERE'S HOW IT WORKS
BOOKING YOUR LICENSE
LETS GET BOOKING!
You’ve learned the road code and now you’re ready to get into the test? Awesome. Here’s how to book.
Head into an “authorised agent” – that’s a VTNZ or AA licensing branch. You can find a branch by heading to the VTNZ website, the AA website or at Waka Kotahi’s website. If you head to the Waka Kotahi website, you’ll want to look for places that do “Theory” testing. You have to come into one of the branches to book your test as you can’t book via phone or email due to verifying your identity in the application process.
The booking process is the same whether you go to VTNZ or AA – you’re going to need to fill in some paperwork, you’ll need to take a bit of paperwork with you and you’ll need to do a few things in the branch.
To start with, before you go into the branch, you should print out the DL1 form and complete it. This is called an “Application for issue or renewal of driver license” – you can download it from Waka Kotahi’s website.
SO WHAT DO I NEED
